Pair of Iron Chairs with Rose Tarlow Fabric

A very cool, rare pair of iron side chairs, in the manner of Gio Ponti and Tomaso Buzzi surrealist arrow motifs. Skillfully crafted with a sturdy black iron frame, with gold accents that add personality & style. These were most likely made in Italy, in the 1950s. They have a casual European, California vibe. Gold ball finials crown the seat backs, drawing the eye to the heart and arrow–shaped motifs that serve as sculptural focal points. The bases and feet are finished with refined gold detailing, further enhancing the chairs’ visual harmony. Recently re-upholstered for THE TASTEMAKER SHOPPE, in a luxurious Rose Tarlow (Melrose House) striped, green velvet; an unexpected, rich textural contrast against the iron frame. This exclusive designer fabric is no longer in production, making it very rare & one-of-a-kind. A coordinating gold and bronze cord around the seat edge gives it a subtle, tailored refinement. Rose Tarlow is considered one of the most original and respected talents in the design industry today. Known for her unique ability to blend traditional and modern aesthetics, Tarlow’s pieces are celebrated for their craftsmanship and timeless Californian appeal.

These chairs function best as occasional or accent pieces, admired as much for their sculptural presence as their utility. We don’t recommend these for primary use, such as at a dining table, although very sturdy & structurally sound, comfort is secondary to their artistic design. They’re very upright and the iron motif isn’t the most comfortable to lean against. Perfect for flanking a foyer console, or in a closet, or any place that needs to be elevated by their fashionable style. These are in high demand and won’t last long!
